- The Item for sale is for one (1) copy of the 12 x 16 inch print "Four Bakers Drumming".
A baker drumming for peace and a clown appear to be in an animated debate. The word patriotism comes from a Greek word meaning fatherland. For most of history, love of fatherland or homeland was an attachment to the physical features of the land. But that notion changed in the eighteenth century, when the ideals of democracy, socialism, and communism strongly emerged into political thought. Patriotism was still a love of one's country that included connections to the land and people, but then also included its customs and traditions, pride in its history, and devotion to its welfare.

USA Coast to Coast : Note card
Time-Less-Image is proud to offer our collection of Christmas, Note cards and Prints. This piece, "Four Bakers Drumming", was taken during 2006 in Bar Harbor, Maine. The image began as a photograph and was enhanced digitally, using Corel Painter, the world's leading natural media painting application and Photoshop. This image was designed with digital tools to replicate the appearance and texture of pen, ink and watercolor.
A traditional 4'th of July (Independence Day) celebration includes: a pancake breakfast, a parade, a lobster and clam bake (with corn on the cob), a concert on the green, all ending with fireworks. Bar Harbor, Maine USA does it with style.
Today most people agree that patriotism also involves service to their country, but many disagree on how to best perform such service. Some believe that the national government speaks for a country; therefore, all its citizens should actively support government policies and actions. Others argue that a true patriot speaks out when convinced that their country is following an unwise or unjust action.
Parades are among the oldest forms of organized celebrations. They are said to date back to 3000 BC as religious observances. Romans held civil parades called triumphs to celebrate special occasions. American celebrations range from observances of important historical events, such as July 4th, to religious and ethnic holidays to secular and sports events. From community and high school homecoming parades to grand, national events, Americans love to celebrate.
The process I employ in the computer darkroom does not involve heavy plates, long exposure times, nor toxic chemicals. However, as with the early pioneers, the final image is a function of light, tone and composition. Relieved of the dangers associated with the original process, I can only hope to some day master a technique that "mirrors the truth". At Time Less Image we continue to seek exquisite beauty in our images, exploring all techniques, old and new.
