A A Harwood Rear Adm Trieste Port City Milos Drawing

This is a beautiful pencil drawing by US Rear Admiral A. A. Harwood. This piece depicts the port and city of Trieste as seen from the gulf of Trieste in the Adriatic Sea. In this drawing you can see several sailing ships, the port city with several buildings including the Larterna di Trieste, and many hills. Trieste is now part of Italy however when this was drawn in circa 1835 Trieste was part of the Austrian Hungarian Empire.

On the back of this piece there is a drawing of Milos Island in Greece with artists title and previous owners notes directly below. A beautiful rendering of the cliffs of Milos Island with seagulls and sailing ships on the right background is a castle possibly the ancient castle of Palaiokastro. This drawing comes from a collection of works by Andrew A. Harwood

This piece is titled on the front and back in pencil. The front lower right it is titled "Trieste Shark" and in the center "Trieste". On the back this piece is titled in the lower right "Milo Sept 9".

Below the images of this piece is 2 photos of a piece I got with the lot of A. A. Harwood drawings that is signed. Please see pictures they all came in the same lot.

CONDITION:
 In my opinion it is in good condition due to crease down the center. Please see photo to form your own opinion to it's condition.

SIZE:
The image size measures 9 inches height and 14 3/8  inches width.
The paper measures 9 3/4 inches height and 15 1/8 inches width.
