France 1890: The Military Band Plays On

A lighthearted fantasy on military music, dating from late 19th century France, done in pen and watercolor on thin tracing paper. Perhaps this is a study for a book illustration. In any case, charming work.

The paper sheet measures about 12 inches by 9.75 inches. Condition of the paper support is fair, with creasing (more prominent in the scan than in real life) and some raggedy rips on the margins -- easily masked by your framer. The art work continues to give a lot of pleasure.

Fun, and inexpensive, antique art. Shipping will be $7 within the U.S. This picture will be shipped from France, where I am currently staying. Enjoy the bidding!
