FINE ANTIQUE DRAWING 1886 ROCKSCAPE SIGNED DATED

Fine antique French drawing, signed illegibly at the lower left and dated 1886. Incredible detail. You get one sheet of paper with a drawing on one side of the page (and nothing on the back of the page). The page measures 11.5 inches x 8.75 inches. We are including a SECOND drawing on a second sheet of paper, by the same artist, that is signed but not dated. Few signs of age, including but not limited to minor browning of the paper and wear at the outer edges of the paper. Good condition and exactly as shown in the photos below. Provenance: a selection of ONE page with a drawing on one side of the page (and nothing on the back of the page), and you get a SECOND signed but undated drawing for free. From a small mid-XIXth Century French sketchbook of practice drawings, in which all the illustrations are done in pencil. The sketchbook contains drawings reminiscent of the work of Sir John Tenniel, Reginald Thomas Cleaver , Edmund J. Sullivan, Ernest Griset (1844-1907), Eugene Grivaz , Paul Hardy, Edward Linley Sambourne, John Hassall, Frank Thayer Merrill, Frank Adams, Harry Rountree , Maurice Leloir, Charles Grunwald, Henry Matthew Brock, Dion Clayton Calthrop, Jean-Ignace-Isadore Gérard (a.k.a. JJ Grandville) and other Punch illustrators of the mid-XIXth Century.
