Robert Dale Williams sought out the rigorous training offered at the New York Academy of Art Graduate School of Figurative Art. There, he studied classical drawing and painting techniques in a curriculum modeled after 19th Century Parisian ateliers. Upon completion of his M.F.A. in 2004, Williams was invited by the internationally recognized Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum to work as a studio assistant. Under Nerdrum, a master of oil painting techniques as well as a keen scholar of the history of painting, Williams began to develop a body of work on themes of eternal human experience – love, conflict, and death. Featured in collections worldwide, Robert Dale Williams has exhibited in Pennsylvania, New York, Great Britain, Spain, and Norway.
