SEASHORE SKETCHES # 7 LOBSTER POTS 1960s Rockport, MA  

#7 of a set of 16 Seashore Sketches by artist W. A. Shaw. These vintage limited number pencil sketches were drawn and reprinted on heavy 8 1/2 X 11 cream colored paper sometime in the 1960s.

About the artist

William A. Shaw was born north of Boston on September 21, 1913.  He graduated from The School of Practical Art, in Boston.  He studied under Robert Brackman, in Connecticut, and also received instruction from Margaret Fitzhugh Browne. Mr. Shaw was a lithographic artist at Court Square Press and Forbes Lithograph Co.

He spent long hours in his studio in Reading, MA and gallery on Bearskin Neck in Rockport, MA painting and sketching New England landscapes and seascapes.

William A. Shaw lived a long and pleasant life, quietly passing away on the morning of June 9, 2000.
