I am offering some works relating to MUSIC by listed WPA artist and muralist STUYVESANT VAN VEEN (1910-1977).
Mr Van Veen lived in New York, and he exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Academy of Design, the Society of Independent Artists, the Whitney Museum of American Art,........ He won several awards including the Childe Hassam Purchase Award and the American Academy of Arts & Letters. He is listed in at least "Davenport's Art Reference & Price Guide" 1999/2000; and "Who's Who in American Art" 1973 (there is a long listing on him in this book).
This is a wonderful ink drawing of a cellist. Signed lower right- S.V.V. (along with some other writing too). At the bottom of the mat is written- The Cellist. Drawing is on paper, 7" by 6", and the mat is 13.5" by 12". Matted and attached with just one piece of tape. Some wear around the paper edges. Buyer pays $10 shipping/handling/insurance. Please visit my other works by Van Veen, from the same collection and my other paintings too
