This is an Early 1800s Hand Stitched Brown Calico Lined Seed Bag (it may have been used for storage of other things as well, or as a pocket). This is the nicest one I have ever had! The brown calico fabric is naturally dyed and roller printed measuring 7" tall and 9" wide. It is totally original and wonderful. The bag back is the same as the front as pictured with the condition excellent. This bag has a rope twist cord for drawing in the opening and closing the top. The handwoven homespun cotton lining has some age foxing as it should. Please notice the beautiful and careful stitching at the interior casing all authentic and right with hand stitching on each side seam. Very reminiscent the way early quilts are stitched. This one is very very nice!
