NORTH CAROLINA FOLK ARTIST J. CHENEY painted this scene which featured
her own Blue Ridge Mountain cabin. She greatly admired this striking breed of pig raised by friends in South Carolina, and thought it would make a wonderful subject
for a painting. The farmer and his wife
admire the pig too as does the pig itself.
Now the artist has made 12" X 10" digital laser prints on 80 lb. heavy stock, signed and dated the day of the purchase.
J. Cheney is an artist working in acrylics, gouache and watercolor in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains
of Western North Carolina. Shes loves and lives with animals, at present three rescued dogs, plus three wonderful cats--also
rescued---she calls them "tuck-ups" because they "tuck up with her along the way." But no Hampshire pig, alas.
Her portrait of To-Be (or Not To-Be her cat which was the question during the initial 'tucking up') was featured on UNICEF Christmas cards and gifts. She has also painted covers for Country Home Magazine, Our State (North Carolina) and Down East
