Large Baum painting of what looks to be a stone barn. It is signed Baum on the left upper side where the canvas wraps around the stretcher. I bought this several years back in an antique shop around York and did not see the signature until several days ago when it just jumped out at me. I don't know how I missed it before. Only the B & A & U are partially visible when it is in the frame but after I carefully removed a few nails there it was large as life. It is quite large with the stretched canvas being 36" by 24". The entire frame is 44" by 32". There is also a brass name plate that says Baum. There are some condition issues. There is a 1" tear that needs patched and up along the upper edge of the painting there is a pinhole. Also it is quite dirty and needs cleaned---looks like wood or cigarette smoke as the dirt is a yellowish brown. I know very little of the history as to where it has been all this time. After I had bought the painting I asked several questions of the clerk running the shop. She said she would check with the consignor but the only info I received was that it was part of an estate buy out. I didn't want to be too nosy as I still look for art in the shop. I never had this authenticated. If you are knowledgeable about Baum's works and want to look at it my zipcode is 17363. I am 1 hour south of Harrisburg Pa, 1 hour north of Baltimore Md. 10 minutes off of exit 4 of Interstate 83. NO PAYPAL for this sale. Payment will be in cash, cashiers check or bank draft. I DO want the buyer or buyer's representative to inspect it before money is exchanged. You may either pick it up personally or I could meet you at a 1/2 way point. I do strongly suggest that you have someone knowledgable along or preinspect it.
