This is a very colorful garden courtyard fountain setting by the famous Ca. painter Clarkson Dye, (1857-1955). He is a well listed artist who began in his teens, and pursued artistic painted expression all his life. He studied in S.F. and on the east coast as well as in Europe. He painted wall murals with Frank von Sloan in the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Many of his works reside in the Bohemian club also in S.F. This painting reminds me of the popular fountain scenes by Fox and others during the 20's. His work runs from the impressionistic, to stark realism, and even modern almost abstract deco at times. His work has been published in art print form by the long out of business L.A.Publishing, as well as others. His works in past auctions have reached middle 5 digits. He is listed in all the major catalogues and on the web. This wonderful work shows no conditional problems, or repairs. There is one very pinhead sized chip and pinhole which can be seen in pic 5.
