medium: Lithograph. Signed and numbered 79/150 on the back side.

This lithograph came originally with other 5 cuban artists. In good condition escept for a few pinhole size insect bites (see picture). Besides the actual lithograph this auction includes the front of the portfolio (I sold the remaning 5 lithographs individually) and the front presentation cover with a small bio on the artist. Ar2Tell will provide a Certificate of Authenticity

Raul Milian. Milian was born in Havana, in 1914. Autodidact. His work has appeared in biennials of Venetia and Sao Paulo, as well as in the University of Vermont (1953), University of Havana (1955), and Toronto (1956). He has traveled through all Europe and EEUU. His paintings can be seen at private permanent collections from the following museums: Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana; de Arte Moderno, Sao Paulo; de Arte Moderno, Rio de Janeiro; de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires; of Modern Arts, New York; National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; of Fine Arts, Houston, and many more.
Well educated and passionate, Milian started painting in 1952 and never worked on oils. Exploring qualities of water based inks, has provoked unforgettable moments for whoever contemplates his works. His paintings reflects the internal struggle of a man with extreme sensibility in a world of tearing violence.
