SUN RISE a Landscape Paintings with pastel additions from the Hosokawa School C. 1870. There is Caligraph on the right margin - which is either a title or a signature (I do not read Japanese). The work is a brush watercolor painting. In excellent condition on japan paper with a sheet size of 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 and an image size of 8 x 5.

These appear to be designs for Bonseki Landscapes that are painted in lacquer on wood trays, etc. A very talented hand executed these works. I purchased these at auction in England. VERY RARE !!!
