This original oil painting on canvas measures 25 by 32 inches and sits in an outstanding carved gilt period frame measuring 28 by 35 inches.
The subject is a wonderful mountain scene with towering cliffs and a lake in the foreground. It may be located in a National Park.
It is signed, somewhat illegibly, A.Browning, in the lower left corner (see closeup photos).
It is in excellent condition with no apparent damage or repairs.
There is one small area of the sky where the varnish was applied thickly and has darkened with age (see photo). Not really worth mentioning, but we try to be as accurate as possible.

The following information was originally submitted by Bill Poe of Colorado Springs, Colorado to askart.com :
He collects paintings by this artist and has found referencing documents such as Browning's death certificate, lists of paintings, newspaper clippings, and family members.
Poe has titles of paintings by the artist from Washington, California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Minnesota, Georgia, and Colorado. It appears that Browning was highly prolific, painting thousands of paintings. City Directories of Colorado Springs list Browning as a resident there from 1916 through 1923, and his occupation was given as artist. Many of his paintings have labels on the back identifying their location such as "Mt. Rainier, Washington," "Lake Minnetonka, Minn.", "Neath the Pines of Georgia." The McMurtry Manufacturing Company of Denver used advertisements which included a list of his paintings, stating that: "Our paints are used exclusively in the making of these pictures by our special artist--A.L. Browning".
According to Browning's death certificate, he was born in Atwood, Illinois. He was married to Kathryn Browning, age 58 at the time of his death from senile dementia when he was 83. He died at the St. Erne Sanitarium in Inglewood, California, but lived much of his life, 25 years, in Long Beach,
