Mr. Smith is a mid-west painter, born in McPherson, Kansas, in 1944.  He studied at Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas, Kansas State University; University of Kansas; Wichita State University; Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, Indiana; and in Florence, Italy.  He taught art for four years at McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas.  Since that time, Mr. Smith has pursued painting as a profession.
