This is a one-of-a-kind, original acrylic on paper, vintage abstract painting. It is reminiscent of the "splatter" painting style made famous by Jackson Pollock.
The painting was executed in 1953 by Napoleon Gorski (b. 1922), a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, who subsequently earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Univesity of Pennsylvania. The artisti is also cited in Davenport's Art Reference and Price Guide.
The painting is not signed or dated. This is #6 of a series of paintings which I obtained directly from the artist.
If you are a collector of the 1950s Atomic, Eames, or Mid-Century Modern styles, this painting is for you! Consider bidding on more than one and framing them in a set for a striking art display. This is a great opportunity to decorate with an authentic piece of vintage art.
Please remember that these paintings can be viewed and hung in any direction, not only in the way that I have photographed them.
