Fantastic 8x10 photograph reprint of a Fire Fighting Plane. Taken in 1953, this four engined military transport plane dumping 1,600 gallons of water on a simulated brush fire in a test at a dry lake as several officals watch. Fire Fighting officials envision this method as a means of fighting forest fires in rugged terrain until ground parties can reach the areas. The purpose of the test was to determine the pattern of water dispersal from the plane. Military transports can carry 10,000 gallons of water.
