A very Brief History of the Wild Bunch Gang
The Wild Bunch Gang was active between 1896 - 1901 - This bandit gang operated in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah and Nevada for nearly 5 years successfully robbing banks, trains and stage coaches. The group was usually made up of about 10 people, consisting of outlaws and their girlfriends. The Wild Bunch, was also referred to as Butch Cassidy's Gang or the Hole in the Wall Gang, but was always led by Cassidy, also known as the Sundance Kid.
The gang had several hideouts including the Hole in the Wall in the southern Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming, Brown's Hole in a deserted valley near Wyoming, Colorado and Utah borders. They were also found at the Robber's Roost located in the desert of southeastern Utah.
As communication improved
throughout the country, the robberies became more difficult. The gang
finally split up after their last train robbery in the summer of 1901. Some of the gang, including Butch Cassidy, fled the area, there are many rumors as to what happened with him.
