These lovely GOLDEN SHOWER TREE BLOSSOMS were produced as part of a floral album of Hawaiian flowers found in or around Honolulu, published in 1938. In that early guests to the Islands often brought botanical specimens with them as gifts, Hawaii soon featured a cornucopia of worldwide exotics.This print is an authentic vintage print, not a modern reproduced copy.

The print although 70 years old, is in flawless condition with colors still bright and crisp. Just a slight bit of age toning may be noted, consistent with a publication from the 30s, but no soil or foxing. Measuring 6 ½” x 9”, it has been matted in a basic botanical green with a foam backing, for a completed dimension of 11” x 14” sized to fit into a standard stock frame

Presented on the reverse side is a write up by Mary Dillingham Frear stating the common local name, the origin, a bit about the flower and where in the Honolulu area of 1938, one might find a sampling.

Today, they are probably most abundant in Kailua, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu and truly a sight to behold during blossoming season.
