This lithograph has deckled edges. There is minor smudging in the margins. All damage will fall out of view once matted.
This print is from an enormous collection of lithographs, etchings and monoprints from a Florida gallery that primarily exhibited at expos from the mid 1990's through 2004 before closing, at which point I obtained a small but broad cross-section of the inventory. Virtually all of the works were acquired by the gallery years ago directly from printers, publishers and gallery closings in Boston, Manhattan and Philadelphia. Virtually all of the artists are American or had American exhibitions. The smaller black and white works ranging from the WPA Depression era to generally the late 1950's and the medium and large format works generally dating from the late 1950's to circa 1980.
With the exception of a few older (1980's, etc.) works composed with text and unnumbered which were printed proofs for posters, virtually all of the works are from limited editions - generally editions of 150 to 250 and those which are not numbered are almost all either Artist's Proof's (sometimes inscribed E.A., the French translation of A.P.) or Publisher's Proofs, many of those with various pencil annotations such as “OK to Print,” etc. Between what was at the closed gallery and acquired by others, what we have previously offered, what we presently have listed and what we will be listing in the future (sorry no lists as in storage), over 400 listed printmakers from many genres beginning with Social Realism and Modernism and moving forward to Figurative, Neo Realist and Photorealist schools including many Feminist, Jewish and some African American artists and subjects counted in the collection, both signed and unsigned.
Although I've collected and studied art and design for most of my life and also offer many other works of art on paper, only the works on my site with the sub-title Ex-Inventory Modern and Contemporary Fine Art Gallery are from the above described inventory. I'm retired and I only sell on line a few items to a few dozen items at a time, so please keep checking to see what else I've unpacked.
