Sam Lyons Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Print "Hoover's Fighting Spitfire"
NEW RELEASE! CO-SIGNED BY BOB HOOVER! This is the second print Sam has produced that features a Bob Hoover airplane and signature. The first starred Bob’s Shrike Commander; this one immortalizes Bob’s Spitfire. On February 9, 1944, future aviation legend Bob Hoover was flying his supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc. He and his four-plane-formation were charged with search and destroy, attacking enemy ships and shooting up trains along the French and Italian coasts, from Cannes to Genoa. The moment captured by “Hoover’s Fighting Spitfire” is shortly before Bob was shot down and captured. (Don’t worry, he escaped in an amazing feat of bravery and daring!)
This 18" by 22-1/2" image size print, limited to 300, is signed by the artist and co-signed by Bob Hoover.

A Limited Edition print is restricted to a certain number. For example, if 400 prints are made from an original painting, once they’re gone, that’s it. There is no limit to the number of open edition prints of a particular painting. That’s why Limited Edition prints are more expensive — and more valuable to collectors — than "open" edition. Rare objects are more valuable.
All Limited Edition prints are signed and numbered (s/n). Besides the signature already appearing on the print from when Sam signed the original, Sam signs each one personally. He also designates when the particular print came off the press. So if you see “52/400” penciled in, you know that was the 52nd print off the press out of 400 prints.
An Artist’s Proof (AP), generally, is the first 10% of the Limited Edition prints that come off the press. If the Limited Edition is 400 s/n, there would be 40 APs. This status is noted on the print. Collectors prefer APs because their value increases even more than a Limited Edition as time goes by.
All Limited Edition artwork is subject to availability at time of order. Although seller strives to remain currrent as to inventory, seller reserves the right to cancel a sale if item is no longer available at time of purchase.

All artwork is shipped UPS Insured. As all items are shipped directly from the Artist's studio, please allow 7 - 10 days for delivery. For framed artwork, please allow 2 - 3 weeks.
Within the Continental USA, S/H on prints is $15.00
For shipping outside the USA, including Alaska and Hawaii, buyer will pay actual shipping costs. Please e-mail with request and location and we will respond with required cost. All payments must be made in US dollars and if paying through Paypal, currency conversion will apply.
