This stunning vintage botanical print is an original bookplate that has been professionally removed from an out-of-print book that is no longer available.   Entitled The Most Beautiful Flowers, it was printed in Europe more than 25 years ago by the owners of the copyrights of the original plates.  The original fruit and flower botanicals were hand colored engravings that have been flawlessly reproduced in this collection.

Each plate is in excellent condition with no stains or tears.  Each print measures approximately 10 x 13 inches. Printed on heavy weight high-quality cream colored matt finish stock and is free of text or printing on the back.

Pierre Joseph Redoute (1759-1840) was known as the "Raphael of Flowers" as well as the "Rembrandt of Roses". These flower and fruit prints are from a collection of 144 of his masterpieces originally published in 1833 entitled Most Beautiful Flowers.  These images depicted flowers and fruits as they appeared in nature.  Redoute made it possible for the next generations of flower and botanical painters to succeed.
