For consideration is this Pair of Framed Etching Prints, in gold colored frames with GLASS.
The Artist is Unknown as we could not find a signature and the paper sticker on back does not have a name (see photos)
they have a Printed Numbered in the top left corners & have a copyright in the lower left. One has a printed number of GE 114 and the other printed number of GE 117..... They are also numbered on the back paper sticker. There could be a signature under the matting, we did not want to take them out of their original frame to check.
Both are presented in the frames with a heavy board Mat. Mat does have a light line - drawn for trim about 1/2 from inside cut edge of mat opening.
These are a Vintage MATCHING SET of Etchings, Prints show a possible scene of a Europe Village. Note the rough surface of the paper these prints are printed on in the photos.
Scene of houses or building. Colors used in both are the same in tone. One of our photos show a small sign in the print (GE117) above a door -- this little sign has RUE DE and some other letters that we could not make out.
Each has the original paper backing, Some of the paper is torn at edges & piece are missing. Both have a sticker that Printed and states: line No 543 .... Frame No. 216E .... Order No. 1841 .... Subject: Etching.
Area of the prints that we can see is 7 1/4 inch wide by 9 inches. The matting board shows about a 2 1/4 inch border around the prints. Frame is 12 1/2 by 15 3/4

CONDITION STATEMENT: GOOD CONDITION ADDITION NOTES: Prints do seem to have a overall yellowing or darkening to the paper or paper was original off white or cream in color. FRAMES: Each has a wire hanger. Paper is browned with age, One frame has a lower corner that is broken on the backside, but the piece of wood is attached with tape. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS...condition of paper & frames are shown.
