This is a vintage 19th century art print titled "A Party at Murano. From the Original Painting by Eugen Blaas, in the Belvedere Gallery." It is in excellent condition and was published in 1884 in a collection of photogravures titled Masterpieces of German Art. The print is accompanied by a section of text describing the scene and the career of the artist who was born in Alban, Italy in 1843. Eugene de Blaas, also known as Eugene von Blaas or Eugenio de Blaas (July 24, 1843 – 1932) was an Italian painter in the school known as Academic Classicism. He was born at Albano, near Rome, to Austrian parents. His father Karl, also a painter, was his teacher. The family moved to Venice when Karl became Professor at the Academy in Venice. He often painted scenes in Venice. He became professor in the Academy of Venice. From Wikipedia The print has been cleaned and is free of age toning and foxing spots. The photogravure measures approx. 7.50 by 11 inches, and the overall size, with a generous white margin, is approx. 11 by 15 inches. It is printed on a quality thick paper blank on the reverse side. This is an antique print, over 120 years old, and guaranteed to be as described.
