These are 2 beautiful hand-sculpted griffin pedestal/fireplace matel legs which you can purchase separetely in our store from the griffin fireplace matel which we also offer.

The griffin (also spelt gryphon, griffon or gryphin) is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head of an eagle with the addition of prominent ears. The female has the wings of an eagle. The male (known as a keythong) has projecting spikes instead of wings and is less frequently depicted. In the artwork of ancient Persia, as well as in the artwork of other parts of the ancient world from Scythia to Macedonia and Greece, the Griffin has special place (see the two sculptures of griffins from Persepolis and Susa). Here shown are the pedestal and detail of the head of the griffin.

Cast stone, hand-finished in antique finish.

SHIPPING CHARGES:

Because of its large size this item can not be shipped via standard Post Office.  We only ship this item on a skid.  It will be placed horizontaly on a skid for safe transportation. Shipping cost is $249. We will gladly combine shipping charges for multiple items.
