Ornate Antique Soap Stone Tomb with Pink Marble Sarcophagus!
This is a really fun piece. The soapstone miniature tomb measures nearly 7" in length and has a width of 4". It's really rich in detail, remarkably so, in fact. It appears to be of Asian origin; there are what look like Chinese symbols, but I'm not an expert. There is also what looks like a mark "TII" which can be found carved into the bottom and on the back. This came from the Estate of Benjamin Lustig, a prominate dealer of ancient artifacts.
 
The pink marble sarcophagus is a little over an inch long and fits nicely inside the tomb. The gate in front of the tomb can be removed; it has two pegs which fit in the appropriate slots to hold it in place.
 
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. There is a spot where it looks as if a piece broke off and then was reglued.(See middle left of above picture). There are also a few knicks here and there. They don't really detract from the beauty of the piece, though, as it is a unique little carving. This is sold "as is".
