Up for auction is this HEAVY BRONZE CAST OF AN ANGULAR WOODPECKER. The sculpture is laying on a surface, a small organic shape dish rises out of the "branches". The woodpecker is initialed in the metal on the wing "G. R. S. '88" by hand. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the artist.
The woodpecker weighs about 2 lbs,, 8" long and abt. 6" at the widest, while the metal is thick, the shape is hollow, the inside is painted black.
I will add a picture tomorrow of the bird laying on the table because it really is a very unusual dish, I guess for change or jewelry or other small items.
There is another bird by the same sculptor, same style, up for auction.
