GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER ON HORSEBACK. THIS SPELTER FIGURAL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT DEPICTS CUSTER ON HORSEBACK. IT IS ESTMATED TO BE PRE 1900. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A SWORD OR FLAG IN HIS HANDS. MY BEST GUESS IS THE SWORD SINCE THIS DEPICTS A LEADER. TAKE NOTICE OF THE RIFLE ON HIS BACK, AND THE HORSE'S LEG RAISED.

I have NOT cleaned this item, and I don't notice any substantial damage. There are some light spots in the ground casting (where the horse's feet are standing) This does NOT seem to be corrosion, but points where the bronze did not pour well or some type of manufacture's defect.


MODEL IS APPROXIMATELY 10 INCHES TALL AND EIGHT INCHES WIDE. THE BASE IS 8 3/8"  X 3 1/2" oval. Seems that the base is missing a velvet cushion or padding. You know the kind of thing you see underneath candlestick holders of this period.
