Each carving is branded with my father's LLL brand and the year that the carving was actually made. This is usually found on the bottom of the shoes.

My father, Larry Lubbert and his wife Doris hand carve many different characters. They do a fantastic job carving characters and they love doing it. They attend craft shows all over the Midwest selling their hand-carved creations.

Gnomes and Things is a husband and wife creation. Larry does most of the carving, but within the last two years, Doris has started carving pins and magnets.

The carvings are painted by Doris. She has the steady hand to put the final details on their carvings.

Larry and Doris have both retired from their regular jobs and are doing the woodcarving on a full time basis. In 2004, they built Gnomes and Things, a woodcarving workshop at their home in Decorah, IA.
