FROM the STUDIO~~In "End of the Season" John paints an Impressionist view of a house by the sea. Placed out of the water is a rugged blue boat as the summer season comes to an end. This artist has captured the sun bleached colors in the sandy landscape and tufts of sea grass cover the foreground and rough trail to the house. John has an eye for lights and shadows in his work that many artists don't capture. Shadows and reflections are studied well by this Pennsylvania Impressionist of Bucks County residence. John McDowell Williams (b.1949) is a complex artist. His subjects are many and his style is his alone. Although he has been compared to Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer, and Zoltan Szabo-all artists he admires, John's vision is continually evolving. As a multi-media {working in gouache, watercolors and oils} University trained in the Fine Arts, John knows the importance of color harmony, balance and uniqueness in his composition. Yet daily experience is his basis of Impressionist Art. The American Scene is surely a John McDowell Williams adventure.
