Not sure this filter will fit? Measure your telescope:
The filter slips over the sky end of the optical tube. Measure the outside diameter (OD), or widest distance across the optical tube of your telescope with a ruler ,tape measurer, or caliper. This measurement should be equal to or between 3 3/8"(86mm) and 3 5/8"(92mm).
This filter doesn't fit your telescope? Type in make and model in the store search box to find the filter for you!!!
This is a safe full aperture solar filter. This means that it allows the most light possible into the telescope because it allows the full aperture of your telescope to be viewed. This full aperture allows the best possible daytime viewing when there is minimal atmospheric turbulence.
This premium solar filter has an aluminum cell that is secured to the tube end of the telescope with a nylon thumb screw. The clear aperture is made with high quality hand selected and inspected optical black thin film. This is the highest quality, most durable, 3.75" full aperture thin film solar filter on the market. The sun is viewed in a natural yellowish-orange image. The filter can be used for direct viewing through the telescope or for photography. It will fit a telescope with a tube end (opposite the eyepiece) diameter of 3 5/8"(92mm) to 3 3/8"(86mm). You can measure the diameter of the end of your telescope to see if this filter will fit.
What is Thin Film?
There are many thin films on the market today used for solar viewing. Some of them include Mylar, Baader, Black Polymer, etc. The thin film that we use for our thin film filters is a black plastic polymer. It filters light from the sun and therefore is safe for solar viewing. The sun is viewed as a sharp natural orange image, not blue or white. It is less expensive than coated glass, very durable, and easy to work with.
