Star filters are one of must haves for both digital and film photography. Why? Because bright source of light is portrayed by flairs, rays universally across cultures (remember how children draw a sun?). At the same time on a photo, or even on a slide, a bright source of light is just a white spot. Star filters are used to translate brightness of the sun, blinks of light on the water, reflections, etc. into a culturally readable image. A Star filter is a must. Period. Most professionals have star filters, not UV filters, permanently mounted on their photo and video equipment.
4F (which produces 4 rays or flairs) is the most popular type of star filter. It is also important that the filters are rotating so that you can rotate the flairs to arrange the picture the way you want. I am not an expert in filter manufacturing but here is a quote from Sonia, the manufacturer, that translates in the quality of the filter, “There are at least fifteen manufacturers in India who are manufacturing Camera Accessories but we are the oldest (Established 1967) & largest with a share of more than 60% in the domestic market. I am not sure that at what prices they are marketing their products but one thing which I am sure of is that most of their products do not match the international standards at all. For Instance - You can take the case of "Close Up Lenses". Any Close Up Lens manufactured in the world is made on Miniscus Base (-2) but all the manufacturers in India, except us, are manufacturing the Close Up Lenses on Neutral Base (0) & moreover they are manually edging the Lens which totally spoils the Optical Center of the Lens.”
Shipping and handling is $4.50 regardless of the number of units purchased. I can ship internationally for $6.50 and each additional smaller item like this is just $2 extra. I combine shipping across several different kinds of photo-related equipment but reserve the right to split very large orders in several shipments.

I stand behind the products I sell. Check my feedback to see that more than 10% of my customers are repeat buyers, they bought more than one thing from me, which, I believe, is high for the internet and is the best recommendation for the quality of my products. I would replace the product free of charge within 45 days after the end of the auction if you send me a defective piece back. Furthermore, I just want you to be satisfied, and if you for any reason decide that you do not like the product and return it to me in “as new” condition within 45 days after the auction end, I will issue a refund for the full amount minus $2.50 – headache fee, that covers my listing and selling expenses. There are people in this world who are never satisfied, and my headache fee is an attempt to prevent them from enjoying their personality disorder at the expense of serious buyers.
Choosing between 4f (four flairs) and 6f (six flairs) is, of course, a matter of personal preference. Here around are some images I took with a 6f filter, Hartford, CT, on the left, and New England Fall below. 6f creates a more balanced image but it may easily become too crowded (if you take an image of Hanukah candles, for instance). With a 6f filter it is a little harder to create accents, like as with my son’s photo above. I personally use a 4f filter more, a 6f one only occasionally, but I have both for each lens size I use. I have been explicitly asked for 6f filters by some customers, so I decided to stock them, and will gladly post one up for you. I sell them at $1 above BIN price (because of stocking expense). If you buy both filters, however, I give you a $3 off even if you buy the 4f filter at the minimum auction price.
Please note some of my other auctions that you may be interested in and will save some shipping charges.
Constant increase of fees by eBay has resulted in many items becoming unfeasible to sell there. I have a large inventory of various scissors or tweezers, including high quality hairdressing scissors and thinners. Let me know if you are interested, and I will put up a listing. I am selling off my inventory, so my prices are unbeatable, and only the most expensive (Acuto and Simaeco Razor Edge) scissors will add $3 to shipping and handling.
