Indian incense is very different from incense made in the U.S.

Here in the U.S. most incense is made with a blank stick (punk), dipped in oil. The quality of the oil and the length the stick is soaked is what makes the difference in the quality of the incense.

 

Indian incense is made by creating a type of slurry of oils and resins, this is then hand rolled around a wood stick. This is incense that is made entirely of resins & natural ingredients -- nothing synthetic. This method allows for very different scents and a distinctive quality that some love. Indian incense has been made this way for hundreds of years. This is what is considered “traditional” incense. It’s more like the incense that has been burned for centuries in temples & that which has been used for ceremonial purposes. The fragrance of natural    incense is VERY different than oil-dipped incense.

 

The method of preparation is similar to bread making. First, all the dry powders are weighed and placed together in a large tub in separate piles. Then the tree gum is dissolved with the oil. The dry powders are mixed together and the tree gum/oil mixture is added to the dry mixture. The ingredients are thoroughly mixed together by hand until the oils are completely absorbed. Water is added to this mixture and it is kneaded to a dough-like consistency called Atta. The Atta and a bamboo stick are rolled together on a board until the stick is coated with the fragrant mixture. The sticks are then dried in the sun.

 

Some people prefer it, and some don’t.  We recommend that you try some & see how you like it.

Payment

Payment must be received within 10 days. We accept all credit cards through Paypal. Money orders & personal check also accepted. Orders will be shipped after the personal check has cleared. This can take up to 10 days. NO CODS.

All charges are based on the USPS charges. We also do Express Mail for overnight shipments. Outside the USA we ship USPS Global Priority Mail. We ship worldwide.

Delivery

We normally ship most orders within 24 hours. Orders received by 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday (CST) will ship next day. Orders Received Friday, Saturday & Sunday will normally ship Tuesday morning at the latest. This will apply to orders paid by check once the check has cleared.

Refunds & Returns

The Scented Realm ltd cannot guarantee that you will like the incense/oil you have purchased. Each person is different, and it is impossible to ensure a product will be to your liking. All of the descriptions are either direct from the manufacturer, or our best educated description. The Scented Realm ltd will guarantee that the product will arrive to you in good shape, without damage. The Scented Realm ltd will also guarantee against defects in manufacturer’s workmanship as well as any item that is misrepresented by either description or picture. Should you receive an order that either has been damaged in shipping or has a defect in manufacturers workmanship, you will need to e-mail with the details. You will have 7 days from receipt of your order to contact our customer service department. We will not be responsible for damage or defects after 7 days from receipt. When possible The Scented Realm ltd will choose to replace item, refunds can only be fulfilled if the item is returned to us. Damage from misuse or mishandling is not covered.
