Here's a great recipe to try:
Molasses Cookies 1 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening 1/2 cup coffee
1 cup sugar 2 tsp. baking soda
1tsp. ginger 5 cups flour
1 cup Table Syrup
Cream shortening and sugar together; add Table Syrup. Sift flour, ginger, salt and baking soda together. Add dry ingredients, gradually, to the shortening mixture, alternating with coffee and ending up with flour mixture. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Note: If butter is used instead of shortening, do not grease cookie sheets.
