Up for Auction is a complete MOONLIGHT AQUARIUM SYSTEM. The feature on this one that sets it apart are the (4) 85 to 100 degrees wide angle BLUE lenses. This gives great overall coverage in your aquarium. Most systems call 40-55 degrees wide angle, but ours gives a much more even and natural coverage. These lights mimic the moonlight that your fish would enjoy in nature. I had my tank set up for a long time with Cichlids, and it was not until I hooked up my moonlight system that they layed eggs and started raising their young fry. It is said that these lights have a lot of benefits for your fish, but they are great for viewing the fish at night as well. If you have never seen a Moonlight system up close, you have truly missed a beautiful sight. These can be used for salt water as well as fresh water. These lights are NOT submersible. A water splash will not hurt them, but do not get them under water. I have used heat shrink to wrap the wires by the lights, but they are NOT sealed for underwater use. The led lights are bright (4000-5000mcd), but not so bright that they blind the fish. Be careful whoever you buy your lights from or if you do it yourself not to go much brighter than 5000mcd. With normal use these lights will last about 10-11 years running constantly. We can also add narrow beam lights to highlight certain features or objects in your tank. We recently added 3 narrow beam red lights to one of our tanks on a big white holey rock for a spectacular effect. *As a side note, these lights work wonderfully in tanks that have white or light colors in them. If you have dark gravel and nothing light in the tank, the Blue LEDs do not reflect the light as well as they do with the tank pictured in this auction. Our tank has fine white sand/gravel, and white to off white colored rocks which give the maximum amount of reflection for these type of lights. |
