OKAY….to be serious, due to the level of understanding that is lacking from many of persons shopping on eBay I am now forced to outline in detail the in’s and out’s of my auction policies.
The biggest problem on eBay is buyers assume that all sellers have the same policy, we don’t! If you are unable to find the answer to your question below – ASK!
NEW EBAYERS: I currently do not block new bidders with less than 20 on their feedback as many other sellers do. I know we all have to start somewhere, however, this will only continue if new ebayer’s follow eBay policy and rules. Ignorance is NOT an excuse!
PAYMENT: PAYPAL is the only form of acceptable payment! I have had too many instances where buyers say they mailed either concealed cash or money orders that I have never received, but felt they should still receive their item – NO! To alleviate this from continuing I now only accept paypal. IF you do not have your paypal account set up – do not bid until it is!
International shipping: The ONLY location I ship to outside the U.S. is Canada, and only on select auctions do I do that! Please do not ask me to ship elsewhere.
SHIPPING: I ship 3-4 times per week and most items ship within 24-48 hours of completion of payment. I primarily utilize USPS for shipments unless otherwise noted in the auction description.
PAYMENT REMINDERS: Payments are expected within (2) two days of auction end. When payment is NOT received within that time, I will send a reminder, because everyone makes mistakes. On the 8th day I will file a non-payment dispute, and leave negative feedback!
INSURANCE I am not responsible for packages after they leave my possession! Insurance is optional for the buyer’s usage. You will be provided a tracking/confirmation number for your package upon shipping. If you choose NOT to purchase insurance, and I have provided your shipping information, I will not be held responsible for the postal service’s mistakes. This means I will not refund your money or replace the item for you.
RETURNS: I strive to provide the best merchandise at the most reasonable prices. In order to do this, I do not offer a return policy except in the event I accidentally send you the wrong item or size. I’m only human after all. In the event one of the above occurs, you must contact me within (4) four days of receipt and return within (10) ten days.
REFUNDS: I do not offer refunds unless I grossly misrepresent the product. I package items securely for shipping and am not responsible for damage incurred by the postal service.
FEEDBACK: Many sellers these days do not leave negative feedback for deadbeats, crooks, and troublemakers because of fear of receiving it back! This is sad and not how eBay’s feedback was intended to be used. The feedback system is to be utilized to let other sellers/buyers know of bad behavior. I am not afraid of leaving negative feedback; therefore, the potential is there for me to receive it in return. You will find that most negatives are from persons who never paid for their items, of course there are always those whacks and cranks and the worst are those buyers who are NEVER satisfied and want to ‘believe’ they are buying from neiman marcus and paying Wal-Mart prices! I believe hundreds of positive feedback from honest customers holds more weight than the few negatives. Please take into account the credibility of the complainer before making judgment on me by checking all of their feedback! Please note that feedback will no longer be left for buyers until it is left for me first!
TOP (5) FIVE REASONS FROM NON-PAYING BIDDERS:
5) ‘I emailed you and said I didn’t want it.”
4) “You only accept Paypal and I don’t have an account.”
3) ‘My son/friend/nephew, etc. bid without my permission.”
2) ‘I was in an accident” or “I was in the hospital.”
1) “We had a death in the family.”
Sellers – how many times have you received these same excuses? I apologize for anyone who was actually telling the truth, but for the rest of you, come on, your loved one can only die so many times!
CLEAR IT UP
If you don’t want the item, or are unsure – don’t bid. You are not allowed to back out of winning bids. Informing me you don’t want it does not absolve you from your obligation to pay for it!
If you let someone else use your eBay account and they bid – YOU are responsible for payment! This includes dogs/cats/rabbits, etc. who walk across keyboards! I have 4 dogs and I have NEVER had them bid on an item to date!
UPDATE: The above section is to be utilized to draw attention to non-paying bidders, not as a checklist for deadbeats to choose their next excuse from!
