Experience has shown that Labs, Shepherds, Akitas and similar breeds often need the Stubborn Dog Receiver. This is usually due to these breeds being less sensitive to the correction due to thick skin and/or thick fur.
The Transmitter plugs into a standard outlet and emits a radio signal that travels along an underground wire. You can adjust the signal to up to 15 feet from the wire. In most cases, a 4-6 foot signal field will be the best for optimal training. The lightweight receiver worn on your pet's collar picks up the radio signal and alerts him as he nears the underground boundary that you have customized for your yard. When he approaches the boundary, he receives a warning beep. If your dog does not return, he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. Our maintenance free design and ease of installation offers tremendous savings compared to conventional fencing and other systems of this type. 
Radio Fence makes it easy to train your pet. By spending just 15 minutes a day working with your pet, he can be fully trained in a few days. You can train as many dogs as you want on the same system, as long as they are each wearing a receiver collar. Additional receivers are available if your have more than one dog.
Radio Fence offers the flexibility you need to solve your installation needs. Bury the boundary wire underground approximately 1-2 inches deep. Recommended Accessories
- Lightning Protection Module. If you live in an area that is highly prone to lightning or surges, you may want to consider purchasing a Lightning Protection Module. Regardless, your system is covered under warranty against lightning or surge damage.
- Extra Batteries. During fence set up and pet training, you will put a greater than normal load on the battery that comes with your dog fence. You may need to replace this original batter after 30-60 days depending on how much testing and training you do. Under normal circumstances battery life is 6-8 months.
- Fence Staples. You do not have to install your "Underground Fence" - underground! Cut your installation time in half! by Stapling the wire to the ground.
- Additional Receivers - If you have more than one dog, you will need an additional receiver for each of them.
- Additional Wire & Flags - If your yard is larger than 5 Acres
Systems are available that include enough wire and flags to cover yards from 1/3 to 5 acres in size. Most people have yards that are 5 acres or less. If your yard is larger than 5 acres, all you need is more wire and flags. If you need more than 2,000 feet of wire, you can order additional boundary kits. These systems are capable of enclosing up to 10 acres. Boundary flags are used to establish a visual boundary for your pet during training. After about 30 days, you will be able to remove the flags.

Sales Tax: A sales tax will be applied on item shipping to the following states: FL 7.0%; AZ 8.1%.
Duty & Other Taxes: International customers are responsible for payment of excise tax and local taxes when applicable. You will be contacted by your own country's officials if any additional payments are due.

Item will ship to all 52 states the USA (including AFO/APO Boxes) and to Puerto Rico. We attempt to ship the same or next day on all packages but it sometimes can take up to 3 business days.
Returns: Items may be returned within 45 days for a full refund including shipping charges. We stand by all products that we sell and if not completely satisfied we will refund. If you have any questions regarding returns outside of the 45 day window, please contact us before bidding on the item. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges.
Please contact us first before returning any product so that we may supply you with the return address instructions, we ship product from two seperate locations. In order to expedite your return, please include a copy of the original packing slip with your return. A credit will be issued on return receipt of the package via your choice of either Paypal or a personal check. Please use the original packaging to return your items where possible.
Warranty: All PetSafe products are covered by their full manufacturers warranty. PetSafe has a Lifetime Warranty on parts and one year on labor.
